Congratulations to ‘our Cathy’
Cathy Wynne has been named as a Medallist of the Order of the British Empire (BEM) in the 2023 King’s Birthday Honours List, for services to sport.
Cathy, from Tonbridge, Kent, is an integral part of the domestic and international canoeing community, volunteering for over 35 years. Until very recently, Cathy was Secretary of the Sprint Racing Committee and Chief Official at the National Regattas and, although she has handed these positions on, she is still very much involved in the organisation of the regattas at Nottingham.Â
She has also been one of the world’s foremost International Regatta officials for the International Canoe Federation and the European Canoe Association having worked at the highest level at international regattas including World Championships, European Championships, World Cups and several Olympic Games.
