All athletes wishing to be considered for GBR Team selection during 2025 should complete the relevant online registration document by Sunday 16th March 2025.
The 2025 selection policies have been published by the International Panel (IP) and are the result of significant work behind the scenes. In particular, the IP would like to thank everyone who contributed to the development of the policies through the public consultation process in the autumn of 2024.
Please take the time to read the policies and familiarise yourself with the processes to be used for the 2025 season.
The IP has also published an accompanying statement which highlights the sprint and paracanoe registration process and shares the key themes from the consultation process.
Draft 2025 selection policies for senior, U23, junior canoe sprint and paracanoe are now open for public consultation until midnight on Tuesday 26 November 2024.
Please take time to tell Paddle UK what you like about the policy as well as dislikes, errors or omissions as if you don’t tell us that you like it, we may change aspects in response to feedback.
The policies have been derived from feedback on previous policies and further evolution of how best to support the Sprint Performance strategy and enable further evolution of the National regattas.
Each policy has a specific hyperlink within the document for you to provide feedback on that policy. They are also provided below.
Closing date: please feedback on the policies below by midnight on Tuesday 26 November 2024.

The Sprint Racing Committee are putting their weight behind the development of Club run regattas. The attached press release outlines the support that the committee can offer, and urge you to consider becoming part of this new venture. Although we already have some club regattas in the calendar (for which the SRC are really thankful), we realise that only having four national regattas per year at Holme Pierrepont to practice sprint skills in a race environment simply isn’t enough. We are encouraging all new and existing club run regattas to now come under the umbrella of the SRC.
To get this new culture off the ground the Community of large and small clubs will need to come together. Please consider this as something for you. If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact Tim Scott, chair of the SRC, using the address below.
