ACM 2022 – Preliminary Notice

The Sprint Racing Section’s Annual Consultative Meeting will be a virtual meeting starting at 7.30pm on Wednesday 28th September 2022.

Information for the meeting will be available on this SRC website nearer the time.

Each year, the position of either the Treasurer, Chair or Secretary is open for election. The election team is for 3 years. In 2022, the election will be for the Committee’s Chair.

The Sprint Racing Committee members are also elected for a period of 3 years, for the 2022 ACM there are 3 positions open for election.

Anyone who would be interested to stand for election to the Sprint Racing Committee, or as the Chair, please send a nomination, supported by the signatures of two full Individual British Canoeing members, either electronically or by post to reach the SRC Secretary no later than midnight on Tuesday 16th August 2022.

Likewise, any item for discussion at the ACM, must be returned in writing, supported by the signatures of two full Individual British Canoeing members, again to reach the Secretary, either electronically or by post no later than midnight on Tuesday 16th August 2022.

National Association Junior Crewboat Training Opportunities

The National Associations are offering the opportunity for athletes interested in trying crew boat combinations, bringing together high performing junior paddlers to match up into K4s and explore potential crew combinations for the June and July regatta. Any athletes who have already chosen crew combinations for the forthcoming regattas are also welcome to attend as a regatta lake based training day.

Any athlete that has achieved the results within the following races at the 2022 April Regatta are invited to attend:

U18

  • U18 Boys K1 1000m Final A
  • U18 Girls K1 1000m Final A
  • U18 Boys K1 500m Final A or B
  • U18 Girls K1 500m Final A or B
  • U18 Boys K1 200m Final A
  • U18 Girls K1 200m Final A

U16

  • U16 Boys K1 500m Final A
  • U16 Girls K1 500m Final A

The training will take place at Dorney Lake, Eton College Dorney Lake, off Court Lane, Lake End Road, Dorney, Windsor, Berkshire, SL4 6FJ on May 30th, 31st and June 1st 2022. 

Further details about these training days will be confirmed shortly, if you are interested in attending please can you complete the expression of interest form below by 17:00pm on Friday 20th May 2022.

British Canoeing Launch Sprint Performance Academy

The development of the Sprint Performance Academy is a key action within the Sprint Performance Strategy, primarily for athletes in the U23 age-group, helping them to gain the skills and knowledge to progress and transition onto the World Class Programme.

If you are interested, you need to complete the Expression of Interest form: Sprint Performance Academy Expression of Interest form.

Junior International Coaching Expression of Interest

With the 2022 International season fast approaching. The Home Nations team are hoping to work in collaboration with club coaches to create a strong Junior coaching support team to attend the 4 Key Junior international events this season. We are looking to gain clarity on coaching availability to create a strong staffing pool, enabling us to involve coaches able to create the optimal environment for the team.
